HomeMy WebLinkAboutPre-LegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-15-0186 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 15-00238 Final Action Date: 4/23/2015 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $362,000.00, TO THE AGENCIES AS SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR PUBLIC SERVICES ACTIVITIES, WITH FUNDS ALLOCATED FROM THE CITY-WIDE POVERTY INITIATIVES PROGRAM, ACCOUNT NO. 14010.910101.882000; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT(S), IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH SAID AGENCIES, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, due to the continuous decrease of available Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds in the last few years, Public Service agencies' allocations have been reduced, resulting in a reduction of services to residents; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to allocate funding to cover public service program shortfalls for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 from the City-wide Povertyilnitiatives Program Fund, Account No. 14010,910101.882000, which are funds transferred from the General Fund Non -Departmental Account No. 00001.980000.891000; and WHEREAS, the City Commission recommends the allocation of funds in the amount of $362,000,00 from the City-wide Poverty Initiatives Program Fund, to the agencies as specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of funds in the total amount of $362,000.00 to the agencies as specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated, for Public Services activities, is authorized, with said funds allocated from City-wide Poverty Initiatives Account No. 14010.910101.882000. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute agreement(s), in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with said agencies, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 15-00238 (Version: 1) Printed On: 2/9/2016 File Number: 15-00238 Enactment Number: R-15-0186 {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission. WHEREAS, due to the decrease of available Community Development Block Grant funds, all Public Service agencies' allocations have been reduced; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to allocate funding to cover public service program shortfalls from the Poverty Initiative Program Fund, Account No. 14010.910101.882000 (these funds were transferred from the General Fund NDAAccount No. 00001.980000.891000); and WHEREAS, the City Commission recommends the allocation of funds from the Poverty Initiative Program, totaling $381,000, in the amounts and to the agencies as specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor {2}.
