Subject: Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) Grant Application for the design and permitting of the
seawall and baywalk at Northeast 22 Street and Northeast 22 Terrace.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachments, authorizing the City Manager to
submit an application for reimbursement grant funding to the Florida Inland Navigation District
("FIND") Waterways Assistance Program, in substantially the attached form, in an amount not to
exceed $31,000 for the design, engineering and permitting of the construction of a new seawall and
baywalk at the end of street at Northeast 22 Street and Northeast 22 Terrace ("Project"); authorizing
the allocation of the required matching funds in an amount not to exceed $52,450, to be provided by
the Department of Capital Improvements and Transportation (CITP) Project B-50600; authorizing the
City Manager to execute any other necessary documents for the submission of said grant application
for fiscal year 2016-2017.
Background Information:
The total cost of the Project is estimated at $83,450 for the design, engineering and permitting of the
construction of a new seawall and baywalk at the end of street at Northeast 22 Street and Northeast
22 Terrace. The Office of Grants Administration is seeking City Commission authorization to apply for
$31,000 in grant funding from the Florida Inland Navigation District. The City is allocating the
required matching funds in an amount not to exceed $52,450 to be provided by CITP Project B-
50600. The City allocation includes the required match of $31,000 (eligible costs) plus CITP
Administrative costs of $21,450 (ineligible costs). The item includes language by Rule 66B-2, Florida
Administrative Code, for grant submittal to the Waterways Assistance Program.
