HomeMy WebLinkAboutSummary FormAGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM FILE ID: 15-01649 Date: 12/15/2015 Requesting Department: Miami Fire -Rescue Department Commission Meeting Date: 1/28/2016 District Impacted: Type: X Resolution n Ordinance ❑ Other Emergency Ordinance n Discussion Item Subject: Procurement of Fire -Rescue Uniforms and Safety Shoes, Invitation for Bid 498331 Purpose of Item: Law Department Matter ID No. The nature of this item is to establish a term contract pursuant to Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 498331 with Monica Manufacturing Corp d/b/a All Uniform Wear (All Uniform Wear), the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for Groups 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, and 17, and Global Trading , Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for Groups 1, 2, 6, 7, 14, and 18, for the provision of Fire -Rescue uniforms and safety shoes for the Miami Fire -Rescue Department, on an as needed contractual basis, for an initial contract period of three (3) years, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, allocating funds from the various sources of funds of the user department, subject to the availability of funds and budget approval at the time of need. Authorizing additional suppliers to be added to the contract as deemed in the best interest of the City. Background Information: The City of Miami has a need for Fire -Rescue uniforms and safety shoes. On September 18, 2015, the Procurement Department (Procurement) issued Invitation to Bid (IFB) No. 498331 for the provision of these items. The items in the solicitation were divided into eighteen (18) Groups. Bidders could bid on one group, multiple groups or all groups, however, bids must include all items within the applicable group being bid on. As required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued on-line. On October 15, 2015 at the bid opening two bids were submitted (All Uniform Wear, and Global Trading, Inc.). All bids were tabulated. Procurement is hereby recommending award of Groups 3, 4, 5 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, and 17 to All Uniform Wear, and Groups 1, 2, 6, 7, 14 and 18 to Global Trading, the lowest responsive and responsible bidders of these Groups.
