Purpose of Item: To accept a contribution of fund to continue the environmental remediation of the Property by way of the City's execution of a Petroleum Restoration Program Funding Agreement with FDEP. This resolution will allow the City to capitalize on external funds and resources for the removal of the remaining pollutants and/or contaminants on the Property to include the cleanup of the groundwater on the Property. Background Information The City acquired the Property via the Model City Trust Homeownership Initiative for the purposes of promoting investment and creation of modern Multifamily housing in Liberty City. The Property was found to be contaminated through an environmental assessment report dated 2004. The City has perform environmental remediation at the Property to remove contaminants from the soil. The City seeks to continue the environmental remediation activities at the Property to remove contaminants from the groundwater by way of the funding program made available through FDEP. FDEP will completely manage this project and shall directly incur all costs associated with the cleanup of the Property. No funds shall be deposited directly with the City.
