A resolution of the Miami City commission authorizing the City Manager to accept grant funds from
the South Florida Workforce Investment Board D/B/A Career Source South Florida ("SFWIB") in a
total amount not to exceed $150,000.00 ("Grant") to carry -out the Career Source South Florida
Employ Miami -Dade Initiative; establishing a new special revenue project entitled: "CSSF Employ
Miami -Dade Initiative" to accept the grant and appropriating the grant in an amount not to exceed
$150,000.00; further authorizing the city manager to negotiate and execute cost reimbursement grant
agreement with SFW IB, in substantially the attached form, for the period commencing August 20,
2015 through June 30, 2016.

Background Information:
In accordance to the One Community One Goal Program, SFWIB has partnered with several local
agencies to offer certification training to help put eligible Miami -Dade County residents to work.
The goal of this initiative is help reduce joblessness by connecting those who need workers with
workers who need jobs. Employ Miami -Dade will ensure that everyone in our community has the
opportunity to benefit from our overall prosperity by providing training for specific trades and industries.
Between January and June 2015, the Center carry -out the Employ Miami -Dade Initiative resulting in the
following:
Construction Training — 88 individuals completed the training, 44 employed
Culinary and Hospitality Training — 87 individuals completed the training, 54 employed
