Chapter 14 Downtown Development/Article II Downtown District

The Florida Legislature, during the 2015 regular legislative session, passed Senate Bill
278, which created Section 189.056, Florida Statutes. This statute reduces the maximum millage
that may be levied on the taxable value of all real and personal property within the boundaries of
Miami's downtown district from 0.5000 mills to 0.4750 mills.
Th.e attached proposed Ordinance amends portions of the City of Miami Code to reflect
the abovementioned statutory change.
