HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 15-00754 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING THE PROPOSALS RECEIVED JUNE 8, 2015, FROM VARIOUS PROPOSERS AS IDENTIFIED IN "EXHIBIT A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, PURSUANT TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS ("RFQ") NO. 495344, FOR COMMERCIAL SOLID WASTE HAULING SERVICES WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE NON-EXCLUSIVE COMMERCIAL SOLID WASTE FRANCHISE AGREEMENTS, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH THE QUALIFIED PROPOSERS FOR SAID SERVICES, FOR AN INITIAL CONTRACT PERIOD OF FIVE (5) YEARS, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR THREE (3) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR PERIODS; FURTHER AUTHORIZING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RFQ, THE ABILITY TO ADD QUALIFIED FIRMS TO THE CONTRACT WHEN DEEMED IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY OF MIAMI WITHOUT FURTHER CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZATION. WHEREAS, the proposals received June 8, 2015, pursuant to Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") 495344, from eleven (11) proposers, for Commercial Solid Waste Hauling Services, as identified in "Exhibit A", attached and incorporated, have been deemed qualified by the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, the City will execute Non -Exclusive Commercial Solid Waste Franchise Agreements with each of the qualified proposers; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1, The recitals and findings contained in the preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The proposals received June 8, 2015, from various proposers as identified in "Exhibit A; attached and incorporated, pursuant to RFQ No. 495344, for Commercial Solid Waste Hauling Services within the City are accepted. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute Non -Exclusive Commercial Solid Waste Franchise Agreements, in substantially the attached form, with each of the qualified proposers, for said services, for an initial contract period of five (5) years with options to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods. Section 4. In accordance with the RFQ, the ability to add qualified firms to the contract when deemed in the best interest of the City without further City Commission authorization is approved. Section 5. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall becomE effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
