A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT, IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FOR THE CONTINUED USE OF THE NORTH DISTRICT
POLICE STATION, LOCATED AT 1000 NORTHWEST 62ND STREET, MIAMI,
FLORIDA 33127 (FOLIO #: 01-3114-012-0880).
WHEREAS, on September 18, 1985, the City of Miami ("Tenant") entered into an agreement with
Miami -Dade County ("Landlord") for leasing a parcel of land to build the North District Police Station,
located at 1000 Northwest 62nd Street, Miami, Florida ("Premises"); and
WHEREAS, the Tenant wishes to continue the use of the North Dade Police Station which said
Lease is due to expire, as well as to enter into a new Lease Agreement ("Agreement"), in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the property consists of 24,437 square feet of air-conditioned space, and 35,949
square feet of exterior space, additionally consisting of a parking lot and landscaping area, for a total
of 60,386 square feet; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Agreement shall include an initial ten (10) year term with an annual
base rental rate of one dollar ($1.00) paid annually, with options to renew as more particularly
described in the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the County Administration will move forward with taking this matter before the County
Commission for approval after the Miami City Commission approves the new Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the Agreement in substantially the
attached form, between the City and the County, for the continued use of the Premises.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption and signature of the
mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission
