AKERMAN LLP, AS CONFLICT COUNSEL, FOR THE REPRESENTATION OF
OFFICER EDWIN GOMEZ IN THE CASE OF TERRYAND TRENT PILLINGER VS.
TRAVIS TABBITA, ET. AL., PENDING IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA, CASE NO.:
15-22952-CIV-SCOLA/OTAZO-REY; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM ACCOUNT
NUMBER 05001.301001.545010.0000.00000.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The expenditure of attorneys' fees and costs for the engagement of Akerman LLP,
as conflict counsel, for the representation of Officer Edwin Gomez in the case of Terry and Trent
Pillinger vs. Travis Tabbita, et. al., pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District
of Florida, Case No.: 15-22952-CIV-Scola/Otazo-Rey, is authorized, with funds allocated from Account
Number 05001.301001.545010.0000.00000.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{1}

{1}If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
