AFFORDABLE HOUSING - SUPPORT giving preference to residents locally situated where government funds are being used for an affordable housing project. 2. TRANSPORTATION — REQUEST federal funds for Miami's Streetcar project. 3. SEA LEVEL RISE - SUPPORT the Miami -Dade Sea Level Rise Task Force report. 4. SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT - SUPPORT issuance of permit for operation of underground freshwater pumps. 5. GUN RANGES IN THE CITY - SUPPORT changes to Florida Statutes to prohibit the discharge of a firearm outdoors on any property used primarily as a dwelling. 6. SHADE MEETINGS/EXECUTIVE SESSION - SUPPORT legislation that would amend FS 286.11 regarding shade meetings for anticipated litigation. Currently, executive sessions are only held when there is pending litigation. The City supports amending the section to state that executive sessions can also be held when litigation is anticipated. 7. ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES - SECURITY AND DISTANCE - SUPPORT changes to the Florida Statute governing Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) and Community Residential Homes to provide for greater security for residents and the community and to prohibit an ALF/Community Residential Home in a single-family or duplex residential neighborhood from accepting individuals diverted from the criminal justice system. 8. PUBLIC RECORDS SUITS/LEGISLATIVE REFORM - SUPPORT legislation that would amend/clarify Chapter 119 to prevent abuse of the public records statute. 9. WAGNER CREEK - REQUEST additional funding for the environmental cleanup of Wagner Creek/Seybold Canal. 10. MARINE STADIUM — REQUEST additional funding for the restoration of the Marine Stadium. 11. EXEMPTION ON AD VALOREM TAXES - SUPPORT legislation that would allow exemptions for municipally owned facilities. 12. FPL - SUPPORT legislation repealing Florida's advanced nuclear cost recovery law as well as legislation that would require FPL to underground, at its own expense, 230kV (or greater) transmission lines installed in densely populated, built -out, and urban environments. 13. NUISANCE ABATEMENT - SUPPORT amendments to Florida Statutes that would expand the definition of a public nuisance to include three (3) instances of felony possession of narcotics. 14. UTILITY MARKINGS - SUPPORT legislation that amends the statutory regime for Sunshine State One -Call of Florida, Inc., to enable local governments to regulate the type of paint used by utilities. 17. MPO — SUPPORT legislation that reduces the membership of the MPO or, alternatively, makes the MPO more efficient by any other effective means proposed by the various members of the MPO. 18. SENIOR HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION - URGE the Florida Legislature to pass a joint resolution that would place a proposed amendment to the Florida Constitution on a statewide ballot that would permit school districts to adopt legislation to allow for additional homestead exemptions only if the State of Florida replaces any lost revenue to the school districts resulting from the same.
