Subject: Approval of Off -System Construction and Maintenance Agreement between the City of Miami
and the Florida Department of Transportation for reconstruction of SR 9/NW/SW 27th Avenue between
SW 10th Street and NW 1st Street.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an Off -System Construction and Maintenance
Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation ("Department") to accommodate the
reconstruction of SR 9/NW/SW 27th Avenue between SW 10th Street and NW 1st Street.
Background Information:
The Florida Department has developed design plans for a roadway project along SR 9/NW/SW 27th
Avenue between of SW 10th Street and NW 1st Street. The project includes milling and resurfacing,
minor roadway widening, median reconstruction, replacing pavement markings, installing signage,
replacing traffic signals, optimizing the traffic signals phasing and timing, drainage modification and
trimming landscaping. The reconstruction will require the Department to construct certain
improvements on local side streets under the jurisdiction of the City. The Off -System Construction
and Maintenance Agreement establishes the terms, conditions and responsibilities of the Department
and the City to accomplish the transition improvements on the City's side streets.
