A scrivener's error appears in Resolution No. 15-0353, adopted September 1.0, 201.5, in
the title and throughout the body ofthe Resolution. The placement marker was entitled "Carlos
J. Arboleya, Jr. Corner" when it should have read as "Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. Plaza".
The correction has been made to the title, the last whereas clause and to Section 2 of the
Resolution.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
PLACEMENT OF A MARKER DESIGNATION, PURSUANT TO SECTION 54-136(1)
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, IN THE PUBLIC
RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED AT THE TRAFFIC SEPARATOR AT THE
INTERSECTION OF SOUTHWEST 26 AVENUE AND TEQUESTA LANE, MIAMI,
FLORIDA, TO COMMEMORATE "CARLOS J. ARBOLEYA, JR. PLAZA" SUBJECT
TO ALL APPLICABLE PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS,.
WHEREAS, Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. was born in Havana, Cuba, and came to Miami, Florida in
1960 at the age of two with his parents; and
WHEREAS, Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. graduated from the University of Miami, with a Juris
Doctorate in May, 1987; and
WHEREAS, Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. started his law practice in August, 1988 specializing in Real
Estate Law; and
WHEREAS, Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. greatly contributed to the City of Miami ("City") through his
service on the City's Planning Advisory Board since 1988, thereby impacting the aesthetic appeal of
the City and the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. contributed to the economic development of the community
through his service in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce since 1990; and
WHEREAS, Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. contributed to the community through his voluntary
participation in the Boy Scouts of America, where he received, among other distinctions, the Cuban
Fleur-de-lis Award; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to commemorate the contributions of Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. to the
community by placing a marker designation in the public right-of-way at the intersection of Southwest
26 Avenue and Tequesta Lane, Miami, Florida, designating it "Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr, Plaza";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this section.
Section 2. The placement of a marker designation, pursuant to Section 54-136(1) of the Code
of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, in the public right-of-way located at the traffic separator at
the intersection of Southwest 26th Avenue and Tequesta Lane, Miami, Florida, to commemorate
"Carlos J. Arboleya, Jr. Plaza", is hereby authorized, subject to all applicable permitting requirements.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor. {1}

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10)
