A resolution of the Miami City Commission accepting the bid received pursuant to Invitation For Bids
No. 476329, from MCO Environmental, Inc., for the provision of asbestos abatement services, on an
as -needed contractual basis, for a period of three (3) years, with the option to renew for two (2)
additional one-year periods; allocating funds from the various sources, subject to the availability of
funds and budgetary approval at the time of need.
Background Information:
The Departments of Community and Economic Development and Building have identified a need to
establish a contract for Asbestos Abatement Services. On May 14, 2015, the Procurement Department
issued Invitation for Bid No. 476329. As required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised
and issued on-line. On May 26, 2015, at the bid opening, three (3) bidders responded, and the bids have
been tabulated. MCO Environmental, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid per
specifications and is therefore recommended for the award. The estimated amount for the initial term
and option to renew periods is $108,000.00. Approval of this contract will enable the City to continue
to deal with asbestos as soon as it is discovered while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
