BOARD OF DIRECTORS RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Beacon Harbour Condominium Association, Inc. ("Association") is
located at 1660 West Glencoe Street, Miami, Florida and is responsible for the care, operation,
maintenance, repair, replacement, administration and protection of our Association; and
WHEREAS, our Association consists of 10 units and the families that live therein
comprising over 25 residents; and
WHEREAS, we have not had sufficient time to discuss concerns with the Developer
about the traffic impact of these zoning changes and require additional time to do so; and
WHEREAS, our constituents will suffer significant tangible and intangible damages,
nuisances, quality of life issues and inconveniences for the pendency of the construction which
may take years and significantly increase traffic in the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved as follows:
1. The Board of Directors requests a deferral of this item on the City Commission's
Meeting of July 23, 2015 until the next Commission meeting; and
2. Moreover, the Board of Directors is desirous of obtaining more information from
the Developer so that, in turn, the Association residents can be apprised of the full extent of the
Project's implications and consequences on the constituents; and
3. It would be irresponsible and inequitable to the constituents if this matter
continues through administrative or other channels before the constituents are allowed an
opportunity to learn of the full impact the development will have on their neighborhood.
4. The Association objects to the proposed change in zoning unless a traffic light is
installed at our common exit onto South Bayshore Drive. The zoning change to increase density
will result in more cars trying to exit dangerously onto an increasingly more busy South
Bayshore Drive and it will only be a matter of time before a serious accident occurs.
5. Should the Commission move forward with the proposed zoning change then the
Association hopes that this necessary traffic light will be installed to protect the health, safety
and welfare of the residents in the neighborhood.
