AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED
Background Information:
The ESG program guidelines allows for the allocation of funds to continue supporting the City's
outreach and referral services to the chronically homeless and additionally requires the City to
support homeless prevention and rapid re -housing activities.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 14-0059, adopted February24, 2014, the Miami City Commission
approved the homeless prevention and rapid re -housing policies as part of the Consolidated
Planning process.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 15-0068, adopted February 26, 2015, the Miami City Commission
approved the allocation of ESG funds for program year 2015-2016 for the purpose of supporting
homeless prevention and rapid re -housing services activities.
There is the need to update the current policy to reflect the conditions of actual cases being reviewed
so more residents can be assisted.
The Administration recommends amending the ESG homeless prevention and rapid re -housing
policies.
