Proposal —Venture Hive LLC proposes to provide District 4 Community with the complete program, technical,
and management assistance required to develop and Implement a youth training initiative pilot program
(Venture Hive Prep— Tech Entrepreneurship Camp) focused on app development, entrepreneurial skills, and
personal development,
Background— For today's students to become tomorrow's Innovative problem solvers, they require
opportunities and challenges that stretch their talents and allow them to envision a future of accomplishment.
Venture Hive Prep— Tech Entrepreneurship Camp is a simple, community -based solution that fills the critical
need for relevant and meaningful summer program activities, Venture Hive Prep —Tech Entrepreneurship
Camp allows middle school students to discover and learn new, in -demand computer skills and their practical
application to create value, This training, which focuses on creative entrepreneurship and basic app
development platforms, will help students think entrepreneurially, learn the fundamentals of coding, build
confidence, and develop important leadership skills,
Program —Venture Hive Prep— Tech Entrepreneurship Camp represents a new career and technical education
opportunity that introduces District 4 middle school students to Important workforce skills in the fields of
technology and entrepreneurship. Using proprietary processes and materials, wherein students encounter
basic app development and entrepreneurship by doing it for real, Venture Hive Prep— Tech Entrepreneurship
Camp participants will engage with a team of experienced trainers, consultants, and practitioners in an
experience -based learning environment that combines the worlds of technology and entrepreneurship, The
Venture Hive model will allow students to explore the world of apps and to develop business ideas, creating
not only a pathway between middle school, high school and additional education, but also to potentially viable
careers and businesses.
Venture Hive proposes 5 two -week half -day camps and one one -week Intensive camp that train up to 132
middle school students (up to 22 students per camp), Each class will incorporate appropriate training, project
preparation time, and breaks,
Session participants will be students attending the Shenandoah, West End, Robert King and Coral Gate
summer camps selected though a written application designed to gauge their entrepreneurial interest and
commitment. The camps will run on a rotation basis starting June 29th through August 14th, Selection will be
done each park manager and one Venture Hive member who will evaluate the applications and choose the

participants by consensus, Venture Hive Prep— Tech Entrepreneurship Camp will issue Certificates of
Completion to all students finishing the training program.
The computer.oriented curriculum will allow students to learn the fundamentals of app development while
the entrepreneurial training will address the essentials of successful business development, opening up
entrepreneurship to students and enabling them to actually start new ventures, The pairing of a coding
curriculum with entrepreneurial training offers an improved opportunity for participating students to engage
in group learning, focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, and possibly form business entities. The program
will also offer guidance, encouragement, and access to a dedicated group of coaches as needed,
The curriculum is designed to be fun and interactive, and will Incorporate topics like the following into the
daily training modules:
• Coding Basics
• Usability
• Executive Summary and Pitch
• Product Development
• Markets and Competition
• Pricing
• Sales and Distribution
• Funding
• Intellectual Property
• Teams
All program activities will take place at the selected parks in District 4 where we will use the computer labs
available. Students participating in Venture Hive Prep— Tech Entrepreneurship Camp will be expected to
follow the generally accepted rules of classroom conduct related to being on time, side conversations, eating,
leaving, and cell phone use, In addition, program staff insists that students miss no more than one class and
complete assignments in a timely manner or face program dismissal,
Expected Outcomes
During the past few years, credible media reports have highlighted Miami's small share of tech jobs, the
ongoing loss of its young professionals, and the lack of strong entrepreneurial brand, Venture Hive
Prep— Tech Entrepreneurship Camp is a fresh solution that confronts all of these issues while filling the critical
need for more relevant and meaningful summer and afterschool program activities, Venture Hive allows
District 4 middle school students to discover and learn new, In -demand, confidence building career skills that
will likely retain them as a part of South Florida's workforce,
Budget
Program management, instruction, mentoring and office supplies for six camps $100,000

accelerator and incubator program supported by the Downtown Development Authority and the Office of the
Mayor of Miami Dade County where we create and test our content and methodology with our In house
companies. The results of these programs have been very promising. Four months from the opening of the
Miami Venture Hive Accelerator, 34 new jobs were created with an average salary of more than $40,000, most
with equity as part of the compensation package. Additionally, although only 10 companies were given grants
(we provide a U$251( non equity grant to all of our accelerator companies), the program was responsible for
17 business relocations and 5 new company formations within the initial 6 months after program launch, At
the 24-month mark, 31 companies call Venture Hive home, with entrepreneurs from 25 countries developing
disruptive technologies and sustainable businesses, Venture Hive has achieved an investment leverage of 20:1
and the Miami Downtown Development Authority has calculated our economic impact to be $7.3M in the first
18 months of operations.
Through partnerships with governmental entities and NGOs, Venture Hive has offered economic growth
initiatives on a global scale. These projects include entrepreneurship training, mentoring, capacity building,
diaspora networking, and business formation assistance. On its non -domestic programs, Venture Hive has
worked in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Africa,
Venture Hive currently provides accelerator, incubation, university and high school training and educational
services to numerous clients including the Miami Downtown Development Authority, Miami -Dade County,
Microsoft, the U.S. State Department, the World Bank, FH1360, the Migration Policy Institute, the Commission
for Science & Technology (Tanzania), Miami -Dade County Public Schools and the I<night Foundation, We also
host In our headquarters in Miami the first U.S, based Microsoft Innovation Center,
