HomeMy WebLinkAboutDDA Resolution FR/SRRESOLUTION NO. 38/2014 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE MIAMI DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ("DDA") OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA IN SUPPORT OF PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI CODE OF ORDINANCES THAT WOULD INCREASE THE MIAMI DDA BOARD'S COMPOSITION TO SEVENTEEN ("17") BOARD MEMBERS AND INCREASE QUORUM REQUIREMENTS BY ONE ("1") ADDITIONAL BOARD MEMBER; AND FURTHER ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO THE DDA BY-LAWS AS NECESSARY FOR CONSISTENCY WITH SAID REVISIONS, SUBJECT TO THEIR APPROVAL BY THE CITY. WHEREAS, both Chapter 14 of the City of Miami Code of Ordinances and the Miami DDA By -Laws govern the composition of the Miami DDA Board of Directors, currently set at fifteen ("15") Board members, as well as DDA Board quorum requirements, currently set at five ("5") Board members; and WHEREAS, in recognition of Downtown's growth, the Board wishes to expand its membership by an additional two members, in order to allow for greater representation of major Downtown stakeholders not currently represented on the Board. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the Miami Downtown Development Authority of the City of Miami, Florida. Section 1. The recitals are true and correct and are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The DDA Board of Directors expresses its support for proposed revisions to the City of Miami Code of Ordinances that would increase the Miami DDA Board's composition to ("17") Board members, and increase quorum requirements by one ("1") additional member. Section 3. The DDA Board of Directors adopts amendments to the DDA By -Laws as necessary for consistency with said revisions, subject to their approval by the City.
