HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-15-0184City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-15-0184 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 15-00384 Final Action Date: 4/23/2015 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXERCISE THE SECOND ONE (1) YEAR OPTION TO RENEW FOR INVITATION FOR BID CONTRACT NO. 320278 BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND PLAY -TECH CONSTRUCTION, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 12-0492, ADOPTED DECEMBER 13, 2012, AND RESOLUTION NO. 13-0422, ADOPTED OCTOBER 24, 2013, FOR THE PROVISION OF POUR -IN -PLACE REPAIR SERVICES FOR THE CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, ON AN AS -NEEDED CONTRACTUAL BASIS; WITH FUNDS ALLOCATED FROM THE VARIOUS SOURCES OF FUNDS FROM THE USER DEPARTMENT(S), SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL AT THE TIME OF NEED. WHEREAS, on December 13, 2012, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 12-0492, approving the City of Miami ("City") award of Invitation for Bid ("IFB") Contract No. 320278 to Play -Tech Construction ("Play -Tech"), for the provision of pour -in -place ("PIP") repair services for the City's Department of Parks and Recreation ("Department") for an initial period of one (1) year, with the option to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods, with each renewal period subject to City Commission approval; and WHEREAS, on October 24, 2013, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 13-0422, authorizing the City Manager to exercise the first one (1) year option to renew for IFB Contract No. 320278 between the City and Play -Tech for the continued provision of PIP repair services for the Department, on an as -needed contractual basis; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department have indicated the need to exercise the second one (1) year option to renew of the City's IFB Contract No. 320278 with Play -Tech, for the continued provision of PIP repair services, on an as -needed contractual basis; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to exercise the second one (1) year option to renew for IFB Contract No. 320278, between the City and Play -Tech, pursuant to Resolution No. 12-0492, adopted December 13, 2012, and Resolution No. 13-0422, adopted October 24, 2013, for the provision of PIP repair services for the Department on an as -needed contractual basis; with funds allocated from the various sources of funds from the user department(s), subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval at time of need. Section 3. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon date stated herein, whichever is later.
