HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-15-0151City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-15-0151 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 15-00346 Final Action Date: 3/26/2015 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, PURSUANT TO SECTION 62-521(B), OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, WAIVING THE TEMPORARY EVENT TWO (2) EVENT LIMITATION PER PROPERTY, IN ORDER TO HOST ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT RELATED EVENTS AT 90 NORTHEAST 17 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, THROUGH NR MAX MIAMI, LLC, OCCURRING AT VARIOUS TIMES DURING THE YEAR AND BEGINNING MARCH 1, 2015, AND ENDING JANUARY 1, 2017. WHEREAS, NR MAX MIAMI, LLC, wishes to hold arts and entertainment related events located at 90 Northeast 17 Street, Miami, Florida, beginning March 1, 2015, through January 1, 2017; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-521 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), temporary events are limited to no more than two (2) events per year per property, for no longer than two (2) weeks per event; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-521(b) of the City Code, the number and time limitations can be waived upon affirmative vote of the City Commission; and WHEREAS, arts and entertainment related events at the above location, for an extended period of time, would be beneficial to the City of Miami's residents and local businesses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Pursuant to Section 62-521(b) of the City Code, the temporary events amount and time limitations (no more than two [2] events per year per property) for arts and entertainment related events located at 90 Northeast 17 Street, Miami, Florida, beginning March 1, 2015, through January 1, 2017, are hereby waived for said period and said permit(s). Section 3. The applicant is still required to get permits and pay all fees for each applicable temporary event. Section 4. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
