A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO GRANT AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR
THE 2014-2015 AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND THE
AGENCIES SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A," EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT
END DATE FROM MARCH 31, 2015 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2015, OF POVERTY
INITIATIVE FUNDS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE ACTIVITIES, AND ALLOCATING
REMAINING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $25,000.00 AS STATED HEREIN TO THE AGENCIES SPECIFIED IN
ATTACHMENT "B"; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR
SAID PURPOSE(S).
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14-0237, adopted on June 26, 2014, and Resolution No.
14-0417, adopted on October 23, 2014, the Miami City Commission authorized the allocation of
Program Year 2014-2015 poverty initiative funds for public service activities, which included funding
the agencies specified in Attachment "A"; and
WHEREAS, due to delays in commencing of the contract, an extension is needed to allow the
agencies to complete their contracts; and
WHEREAS, there remains the amount of $25,000.00 in Community Development Block Grant
("CDBG") funds previously allocated to the People United to Lead The Struggle for Equality, Inc.
("PULSE") for crime prevention and public safety activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Administration requests extending the Agreement end date
from March 31, 2015 to September 30, 2015 to the agencies specified in Attachment "A", and the
allocation of the remaining amount of $25.000.00 in CDBG funds previously allocated to Pulse, to the
agencies specified in Attachment "B";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The extension of time for 2014-2015 Agreement between the City and the agencies
specified in the Attachment "A," extending the Agreement end date from March 31, 2015 to
September 30, 2015, and the allocation of the remaining amount of $25,000.00 in CDBG funds
previously allocated to PULSE, to the agencies specified in Attachment "B", is approved.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute an Amendment to the existing
Agreement with said entity, for said purpose.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor {2}.
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
