HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 15-00175 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO GRANT AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR 2014-2015 AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND THE AGENCIES SPECIFIED IN THE ATTACHMENT "A," EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT END DATE FROM MARCH 31, 2015 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2015, FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE(S). WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14-0056 adopted February 27, 2014, and Resolution No. 14-0170 adopted on May 8, 2014, the Miami City Commission authorized the allocation of the Program Year 2014-2015 Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds for economic development activities, which included funding to the agencies specified in Attachment "A"; and WHEREAS, due to delays in commencing of the contract, an extension is needed to allow the agencies to complete their contracts; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Administration requests extending the agreement end date from March 31, 2015 to September 30, 2015 to the agencies specified in Attachment "A"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY Y OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The extension of time for 2014-2015 agreement between the City and the agencies specified in the attachment "A," extending the agreement end date from March 31, 2015 to September 30, 2015, is approved. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute an Amendment to the existing Agreement with said entity for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor {2}. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
