HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-15-0101City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-15-0101 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 15-00180 Final Action Date: 3/12/2015 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF PROGRAM INCOME FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") FUNDS GENERATED FROM APRIL 1, 2014 TO JANUARY 31, 2015, IN THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $500,000.00 TO THE CATEGORIES SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSE(S). WHEREAS, between April 1, 2014 to January 31, 2015 the Department of Community and Economic Development has collected an approximate amount of $500,000.00 in Commuinity Development Block Grant ("CDBG") program income; and WHEREAS, on July 24, 2014, by Resolution: R-14-0307, the Miami City Commission allocated $75,000.00 in CDBG program income to Miami -Dade Community College for the rehabilitation of the Tower Theatre; and WHEREAS, on February 26, 2015, the Miami City Commission allocated an amount of $75,000.00 in CDBG program income for Public Service Activities for the 2015-2016 program year; and WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the allocation of the total program income from CDBG funds generated from April 1, 2014 to January 31, 2015 in the approximate amount of $500,000.00 to the categories specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of Program Income from CDBG funds generated from April 1, 2014 to January 31, 2015 in the approximate amount of $500,000.00 to the categories specified in Attachment "A," attached and incorporated, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to implement the allocation of said funds. Section 4.This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 15-00180 (Version: 1) Printed On: 2/15/2018 File Number: 15-00180 Enactment Number: R-15-0101 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
