HomeMy WebLinkAboutMemo - Fire DeptCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM TO: Maurice Kemp Chief, Fire — Rescue Department )V FROM:Zduardo (Ed) Santamaria, P.E., CGC Director, Public Works Department DATE: October 30, 2014 FILE: SUBJECT: Proposed access restriction to Crystal View Court REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Several property owners abutting Crystal View Court southeasterly of South Bayshore Drive have expressed concern about the unsafe condition and undesirable activities that occur at the end of Crystal View Court adjacent to Biscayne Bay and have requested the City to restrict access to a portion of Crystal View Court. In response to their request, the City Administration recommends that vehicular access to the southeast end of Crystal View Court be prohibited by the installation of a curbed planter across the street pavement located approximately 800 feet southeasterly from its intersection with Bayshore Drive. The location of the proposed curbed planter is beyond the easterly most private driveway entrance and will not affect access to adjacent private properties. As directed by Miami City Code Section 54-16, this department is soliciting comments and recommendations concerning this restriction from. the Police, Fire — Rescue and Solid Waste Departments for presentation to the City Commission at their December 11, 2014 meeting.
