HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislation V1 01.22.15City of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 14-01159 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR ACCESS TO THE SOUTHEASTERN END OF CRYSTAL VIEW COURT, LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 800 FEET SOUTHEAST OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH SOUTH BAYSHORE DRIVE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS AS MORE PARTICULARLY SET FORTH HEREIN; AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED AGENCIES. WHEREAS, Crystal View Court Southeasterly of South Bayshore Drive currently "dead ends" at Biscayne Bay; and WHEREAS, property owners in the residential neighborhood along Crystal View Court, Southeasterly of South Bayshore Drive, have expressed concerns about the unsafe conditions and undesirable activities occurring at the Southeastern end of Crystal View Court adjacent to Biscayne Bay; and WHEREAS, this request to restrict vehicular access has been initiated by the City of Miami ("City") Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the herein restriction of vehicular access is in the best interest of the public; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. It is hereby directed that vehicular access to the Southeastern end of Crystal View Court be prohibited at approximately 800 feet Southeast of its intersection with South Bayshore Drive, Miami, Florida, subject to the following conditions: a) Vehicular access shall be prohibited by a curbed planter installed across the entire width of the Crystal View Court pavement, at approximately 800 feet Southeasterly of its intersection with South Bayshore Drive; b) Said curbed planter shall be designed and constructed by the City's Capital Improvements and Transportation Program. Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Traffic and Transportation Section of the Miami -Dade County Public Works/Waste Management Department, and to the City's Departments of Police, Solid Waste and Fire -Rescue. Section 4. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
