Subject: Resolution to approve Amendment No. 1 to the Job Order Contracts ("JOC") with various
contractors to provide maintenance and construction services citywide. on an as -needed basis, for Capital
Projects.
Purpose of Item:
To authorize an increase of the authorized expenditure limits to fifteen (15) Job Order Contracts ("JOC") to
provide maintenance and construction services citywide on an as -needed basis for capital projects, allocating'
funds from various Capital Improvement projects and departmental budgets, subject to budgetary approval at
the time of need. This Resolution further authorizes the City Manager to execute an Amendment No. 1 to
each Contract with the JOC contractors.
Background Information:
Pursuant to Invitation to Bid No. 11-12-017, the City of Miami (City) executed Contracts with fifteen (15) Job
Order Contractors for horizontal (right-of-way) and vertical (building construction) in the annual maximum
capacities of $2,000,000,00 for horizontal construction and $2,500,000.00 for vertical construction.
The original expenditure limits per contract has diminished by varied, but significant amounts, based on the
volume of work assigned to each contractor and the complexity of the projects assigned. The current
remaining contract balances are not sufficient to cover the construction costs anticipated for newly approved
projects. The horizontal and vertical JOC Contractors are listed in Exhibit A — Award Summary.
It is therefore necessary to enter into Arendment No. 1 with each contractor, thereby increasing the contracts
by $2,000,000.00 for horizontal construction and $2,500,000.00 for vertical to a final amount not to exceed.
$4,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 respectively. Funds are to be allocated from the appropriate Capital
Improvement Projects, on an as -needed basis.
