HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 14-01031 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE MIAMI-DADE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $40,000.00, FOR THE LITTLE HAVANA BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN MOBILITY PLAN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE; ALLOCATING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $20,000.00, FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AND TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM PROJECT NO. B-30645G. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") applied for and has been awarded a grant in the amount of $40,000.00 from the Miami -Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization ("MPO") under the Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Municipal Grant Program to assist in the preparation of the Little Havana Bicycle/Pedestrian Mobility Plan ("Study"); and WHEREAS, the grant requires a City match in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00, which has been identified from Capital Improvements and Transportation Program Project No. B-30645G; and WHEREAS, the Study will identify potential short and Tong -term improvements to help enhance connectivity, mobility, and safety of pedestrians and bicyclists within the Little Havana Neighborhood; and WHEREAS, grant funds are to be appropriated by separate resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Funds in an amount not to exceed $40,000.00, consisting of a grant award from the MPO for the preparation of the Study, are accepted. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute an Interlocal Agreement, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4. The City's required matching funds, in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00, and allocated from Capital Improvements and Transportation Project No. B-30645G, are authorized. Section 5. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
