ENCLOSURES:
On June 7, 1990, the City Commission passed Resolution No. 90-431 adopting the Wynwood
Safe Neighborhood Improvement District Plan. In response to recommendations in the Plan, the
City Commission adopted Resolution No. 90-546 on July 12, 1990 permanently restricting
vehicular access to NW 23 Street, NW 24 Street, NW 26 Street, NW 27 Street and NW 28 Street
at their intersection with NW 6 Avenue and NW 5 Avenue at its intersection with NW 22 Street.
Out of the six authorized locations, only one barricade was installed across NW 5 Avenue at NW
22 Street. The remaining locations have not been physically barricaded. At the request of the
District 5 Commissioner's Office, this department has prepared a Resolution, to be considered by
the City Commission, to rescind all of the restrictions authorized by Resolution No. 90-546,
directing the removal of the one existing barricade and restore vehicular access to the roadways
identified above. This item has been submitted for presentation to the City Commission at their
January 8, 2015 meeting.
Please call Mr. Leonard Helmers, Professional Engineer IV, at (305) 416-1221, if you have any
questions concerning this matter.
