Purpose of Item: A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, declaring surplus and approving the sale of a City - owned property located at 1796 NW 18 Terrace, Miami, Florida, to Felix Suarez Rosales, a single man. Establishing Ten Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($10,430.00) as the amount to be paid to the City of Miami by the aforementioned. Further authorizing the City Manger to execute an agreement for Purchase and Sale, in substantially the attached form, and to execute such other documents as may be necessary to consummate such transaction in accordance with terms and conditions of the agreement, which terms any be amended by the City Manager as may be necessary in order to meet the best interest of the City. Director Chief r City Manager Page 1 of 2 SUPPLEMENTAL PAGE Subject: Resolution declaring surplus and approving the sale of City -owned property located at 1796 NW 18 Terrace, Miami, Florida. Background Information: The City of Miami has been approached by the adjacent property owner, Mr. Felix Suarez Rosales, regarding the sale of approximately 4,090 sq. ft. of a City -owned property located at 1796 NW 18 Terrace. Purchaser is the only adjacent property owner interested in this property and has agreed to pay the City a purchase price of Ten Thousand four Hundred and Thirty Dollars or approximately $2.55 per sq. ft. for this parcel. Purchaser wishes to purchase the City's parcel to be able to maintain and control the constant debris problem on site. Currently the Property sits vacant, represents a maintenance cost and liability to the City, and does not generate ad valorem taxes. Section 29-B of the City of Miami Charter provides an exception from the competitive bidding requirements for disposition of non -waterfront City -owned property when conveying to an adjacent property owner when the subject property is 7,500 square feet or less, or the subject non -waterfront property is non -buildable. The area contained in the Property is not in excess of 7,500 square feet, is non -buildable, is non - waterfront, and its conveyance to the adjacent property owner would assist in providing for the assemblage of land by the Purchaser. The Property will be conveyed as is and where is and the City will not warrant the sufficiency of its title nor any interest it may have in the Property. Page 2 of 2
