Subject: Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an Intergovernmental Agency Agreement with
Miami -Dade County to perform traffic engineering functions.
Purpose of Item:
To authorize the City of Miami Manager to execute a previously entered Intergovernmental Agency Agreement
with Miami -Dade County to perform certain traffic engineering functions. This agreement allows the City to install
and maintain certain traffic calming devices and/or signs within local municipal streets operated and maintained by
the City.
Background Information:
The City of Miami wishes to assume installation and maintenance responsibilities of certain traffic engineering
functions pertaining to local municipal streets only. This agreement authorizes the City to perform engineering
studies to determine feasibility of traffic calming devices and to install/maintain traffic calming devices and/or
signs. The traffic calming devices include traffic circles, speed humps and historic street name signs.
