SUBJECT: Recommendation for Final Selection for RFP # 12-13-
067 for the Lease of a Garden Cafe (also known as "The Glass
House").

The City issued RFP # 12-13-067 for the Lease of a Garden Cafe on city -owned property located on a portion of 2820
McFarlane Road, Miami, Florida (also known as "The Glass House"), and the three (3) proposals received on April 15, 2014,
were deemed responsive. The Selection Committee ("Committee") appointed by the City Manager, met on July 7, 2014 to
hear oral presentations of the three (3) proposals, and the Committee met again on July 8, 2014 to evaluate the criteria and
scoring values assigned and determine a rank order; the Committee was comprised of the following individuals:
1) Marc Cabrera, Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.
2) Manny Gonzalez, Coconut Grove BID.
3) Marks Burns, City of Miami.
Pursuant to Ordinance 12271, Section 18-86, (C)(6) Proposal Evaluation, "The recommendations of the evaluation committee
shall be submitted to the city manager."
Recommendation for Final Selection:
The Committee recommends that the City enter into contract negotiations with the top -ranked firm,
(Use your scores to rank the Proposers; number :1 being the top -ranked)
1. Glass House Coconut Grove, LLC (288 pts.)
2. Coconut Grove Latin Cafe, Inc, f 238 pts.)
3. US BioenergY, Inc. "Marketplace Cafe" (189 pts.)
