Hannon City Clerk Date: June 18, 2014 Subject: Liberty City Community Revitalization Trust References: Agenda for July 10, 2014 Enclosures: List of Members, Applications and Resumes The Liberty City Community Revitalization Trust, in cooperation with the City Manager, the Department of Community Development and other City departments, shall be responsible for oversight of, and shall facilitate, the City's revitalization efforts for the redevelopment of the Liberty City area in a manner consistent with the strategy identified in the Five Year Consolidated Plan, adopted by the City Commission in June, 2004. The Liberty City Trust shall promote economic development, business and commerce in the area, and shall develop and execute a plan to create jobs, attract industry and facilitate the production of goods and services in the area for residents and non-residents. It will facilitate the development of affordable housing, engage in homebuyer assistance programs and market the area to encourage former residents and others to locate to the Liberty City area. The Trust shall consist of five voting members and one youth, non -voting member. Four voting members and one youth, non -voting member, shall be appointed by the District 5 Commissioner for a term of two years, and one voting member shall be appointed by the City Manager for a term of one year. The District 5 Commissioner shall appoint an individual to fill a vacancy due to the death, resignation or removal of his or her appointees to the Trust, which person shall serve only for the remainder of the expired term. Five (5) appointments are required at this time: • Vice Chair Keon Hardemon has four (4) nominations for seats currently held by: 1. Javier Fernandez, incumbent, whose term expires on December 13, 2014. 2. Jeffrey Mack, incumbent, whose term expired on April 12, 2014. 3. Kay McCants-Hudson, incumbent, whose term expires on December 13, 2014, and will require a 4/5ths waiver of the residency requirement, per Section 2-884(b) of the City Code. 4. Samantha Quarterman, incumbent, whose term expired on April 12, 2014. • City Manager Daniel J. Alfonso has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by:t 1. Roy Hardemon, incumbent, whose term expired on April 12, 2013, is a full-time Miami - Dade County Employee and a City resident, and will require a waiver of the employment restriction of Section 2-884(e) by a 4/5ths affirmative vote of the Commission.
