Subject: Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Joint Participation Agreement with the
Department of Off -Street Parking, a/k/a/ Miami Parking Authority for the Peacock Park Parking Lot Project No.

Purpose of Item:
To authorize the City Manager to execute a Joint Participation Agreement ("JPA") with the Department of Off -
Street Parking, a/k/a/ Miami Parking Authority ("MPA") for the Peacock Park Parking Lot Project No. B-75883
("Project"). Per MPA Board ("Board") Resolution No. 14-04, the MPA wishes to support the City's efforts by
providing funding in an amount not to exceed $200,000.00. The City will be responsible for the design,
construction, inspection, management and administration of the Project. Grant funds are to be appropriated by
separate resolution.
Background Information:
The City and the MPA wish to re -configure the existing parking lot and provide upgrades to the surrounding area at
Peacock Park, located at 2820 McFarlane Road, Miami, FL. The Project scope includes, but is not limited to, French
drains, new sidewalks, asphalt, curbs and gutters, milling and resurfacing, signage and pavement markings, lighting
and landscaping.
The total cost of the project is $302,971.02. The MPA will assist the City by providing funding in an amount not to
exceed $200,000.00. This resolution accepts the MPA's grant funding, in the amount of $200,000.00 and seeks
authorization for the City Manager to execute the attached JPA for the Grant, for said purpose.
