A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, PURSUANT TO SECTION
62-521(6)(3) AND (4), OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, WAIVING THE TEMPORARY EVENT TWO (2) EVENT LIMITATION
PER PROPERTY, IN ORDER FOR NATIONAL YOUNGARTS FOUNDATION
CAMPUS, LLC, TO UTILIZE THE JEWEL BOX BUILDING LOCATED AT
APPROXIMATELY 2100 BISCAYNE BOULEVARD, MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR
FUNDRAISERS, WORKSHOPS, REHEARSAL SPACE, MEETINGS, AND/OR
PERFORMANCES, BEGINNING NOVEMBER 30, 2014 AND ENDING ON MAY 30,
2015.
WHEREAS, National YoungArts Foundation Campus, LLC ("Applicant") wishes to utilize the public
assembly space at the Jewel Box building located at approximately 2100 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami,
Florida, for the purpose of fundraisers, workshops, rehearsal space, meetings, and/or performances,
beginning November 30, 2014 and ending on May 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-521 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended
("City Code"), Temporary Events are limited to no more than two (2) events per year per property, for
no longer than two (2) weeks each; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-521(b)(3) and (4) of the City Code, the number and time
limitations can be waived upon affirmative vote of the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the utilization of the Jewel Box building for the enumerated purposes above at the
above location for an extended period of time would be beneficial to the City of Miami's residents and
local businesses; and
WHEREAS, each temporary event permit is still limited to two (2) weeks each; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant may apply for a temporary event permit for each two (2) week event
that occurs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 62-521(b)(3) and (4) of the City Code, the temporary events
amount and time limitations (no more than two [2] events per property for no longer than two [2]
weeks per permit), for the utilization of the public assembly space at the Jewel Box building, located
at approximately 2100 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, Florida, for fundraisers, workshops, rehearsal
space, meetings, and/or performances, beginning on November 30, 2014 and ending on May 30,

2015, are hereby waived for said period and said permit.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
