Regalado City of Miami City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, Florida 33133 Dear Mayor Regalado: SUBMI r Lu IN 10 I ht PUBLIC RECORD FOR ITEMR.i3 ON ii-ao-dvf. I am following -up on my letter date February 10, 2010 (attached) regarding the Florida Inland Navigation District's interest in financially assisting with the redevelopment of Miami Marine Stadium. Since that time, the City has applied for, and FIND has granted two "Phase I" grants for design and permitting. Unfortunately the first grant for $175,000 has expired, and my understanding is that the City may not take advantage of the second grant of $157,900, which is scheduled to expire in September of 2015, but is eligible for a one year extension until 2016. I want to reiterate my commitment as the Miami -Dade County FIND Commissioner to help support the redevelopment of the Miami Marine Stadium. Based on the fact that the County (including its municipalities) has recently been under its annual $6 million cap for grants, FIND staff and I have discussed the possibility of considering Phase 11 construction grants of up to $2 million per year over a three year period. This $6 million contribution would represent 20% of the estimated $30 million rehabilitation costs, and in conjunction with other planned and committed funds, represents a solid financial foundation for commencement and completion of the work. In order to access these funds we will need to work in partnership with the City of Miami as applicant for these grants, and with Friends of Marine Stadium as the funding and development partner for restoration of the Stadium. If I can provide any further explanation regarding the various ways in which FIND can assist with this important project, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working with the City and restoring this important landmark. 1 Sincerel 4,......)0,4011... T.
