Subject: Approval of Off -System Construction and Maintenance Agreement between the City of Miami
and the Florida Department of Transportation for reconstruction of NW 7 Avenue between NW 8 Street
and NW 36 Street.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an Off -System Construction and Maintenance
Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation ("Department") to accommodate the
reconstruction of NW 7 Avenue between NW 8 Street and NW 36 Street.
Background Information:
The Florida Department has developed design plans for a roadway project along NW 7 Avenue
between NW 8 Street and NW 36 Street. The project includes reconstruction of NW 7 Avenue with
roadway, sidewalk, drainage and ADA compliant improvements. The reconstruction will require the
Department to construct certain improvements on local side streets under the jurisdiction of the City.
The Off -System Construction and Maintenance Agreement establishes the terms, conditions and
responsibilities of the Department and the City to accomplish the transition improvements on the
City's side streets.
