Subject: Resolution establishing a new Special Revenue Project entitled "Out of School Time Snack
Program 2014-2015"
Purpose of Item:
Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to accept a reimbursement grant from the Florida
Departtent of Health, Bureau of Child Nutrition Programs in the amount of $249,043..02 and further
appropriating, allocating, and establishing a new Special Revenue Project entitled "Out of School
Time Snack Program 2014-2015" for the purpose of funding said "Out of School Time Snack
Program" in all of the City of Miami's manned parks. This program provides snacks for
approximately 1511 kids on a daily basis in a total of 28 parks.
Background Information:
The Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded a renewal grant from the Florida
Department of Health, Bureau of Child Nutrition Programs in the amount of $249,043.02 to provide
snacks to all of the school -aged children who participate in out -of -school time activities in various
City parks. This Resolution appropriates the grant and establishes a new Special Revenue Project for
said purpose and further authorizes the City Manager to execute all of the documents necessary to
accept the awards. PATEO is to be determined once the project is established.
