Background Information: In response to the JAG 2014 local solicitation announcement, the City of Miami submitted a grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs. The JAG Program will provide funding towards law enforcement equipment and technology upgrades for the Miami Police Department. The JAG Program will provide funding towards law enforcement equipment and technology upgrades for the Miami Police Department. Specifically, funds will be used to purchase 127 mobile data computers, related software, warranties and accessories. These technology upgrades will improve essential law enforcement services that will help to reduce crime. This grant is awarded for a period of four years, beginning October 1, 2013, through September 30, 2017. This award does not require any local match.
