Re: FY'15 Coconut Grove BID Operating Budget:
Enclosed is the proposed Coconut Grove Business Improvement District operating budget for fiscal year
2014/2015. The BID is pleased to announce the continuation of the successful initiatives that were introduced in
FY'14, which fortifies our commitment to serve locals and visitors alike as a world -class commercial walking
village.
Highlighted below are budgetary items that will fund the development and continuation of several programs and
initiatives:
■ $100,000 budgeted for expansion of the Coconut Grove BID public safety surveillance system, which
currently consists of 10 HD cameras that are utilized by the City of Miami Police Department. (Capital)
■ $71,000 has been set aside for off -duty police officer coverage, which consists of coverage 8 hours a
day, 5 days a week (over 2,000 + hours annually). (Operations)
• $50,000 has been set aside for the Shutter Removal Grant Program, which assists property owners
with 50% of the costs of removing hurricane shutters and installing impact glass. (Capital)
■ Development and implementation of the first district — wide free Wi-fi service in the City of Miami.
(Marketing)
• Weekly Farmer's Market, which was awarded the Best Farmer's Market by Miami New Times.
(Marketing)
■ Weekly free Yoga class at Peacock Park every Tuesday and Saturday. (Marketing)
• Bi — weekly free historic bicycle and walking tours. (Marketing)
• Monthly Fashion + Art + Music (FAM) Night every first Saturday. (Marketing)
• Continuation of the Coconut Grove special event recruitment program. (Marketing)
■ Marketing collateral for promotion of events and initiatives. (Marketing)

scheduled this upcoming September 2014.
