A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF
AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO ACCEPT
REIMBURSEMENT FOR PRE -APPROVED OVERTIME COSTS AND OTHER
EXPENSES INCURRED BY MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S POLICE
DEPARTMENT SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS SECTION, ASSIGNED TO ASSIST THE
BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES, EFFECTIVE
UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2019; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DESIGNATE THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE ANY OTHER NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID
REIMBURSEMENT OF FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") and the City of
Miami ("City") Police Department desire to collaborate in federal ATF Task Force investigations; and
WHEREAS, the reimbursement of overtime costs and other expenses is contingent upon prior
approval from ATF, including but not limited to, travel, fuel, training, and equipment incurred by the
City's Police Department in providing resources to assist ATF; and
WHEREAS, payments may be made to the extent that they are included in ATF's Fiscal Year
Plan, and the monies are available to satisfy the requests for reimbursable overtime and other costs;
and
WHEREAS, no matching funds are required from the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute a Memorandum of Agreement, in
substantially the attached form, to accept reimbursement for pre -approved overtime costs and other
expenses incurred by members of the City's Police Department Special Investigations Section,
assigned to assist ATF, effective until September 30, 2019.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized{1} to designate the Chief of Police to execute
any other necessary documents to implement the acceptance of said reimbursement of funds.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
