The goal of the Miami PAL
After School Program is to
create a bond between the
youth of Miami and Police
Officers through academics,
cultural and artistic
programming, as well as
sports and recreational
activity; so that the youth
are empowered to resist the
negative influences of the
streets. Since its inception,
Miami PAL has broadened
its scope to include
education, mentoring,
tutoring, arts and crafts,
dance, cheerleading, music,
drama, summer
athletics/academic camp,
social services, vocational
guidance, entrepreneurship,
leadership development,
healthy choke initiatives,
and field trips. Miami PAL
has provided free after -
school and summer
academic and athletic
programs for youth, ages 7
through 17 years of age
Miami PAL (JETS) is
operating a Youth Tackle
Football and Cheerleading
Program in the Xteme
League Football Program,
Which will enhance and
continue to fulfill the motto
of the MPD-Miami PAL
which is to "Fill Playgrounds,
not Prisons"
Miami PAL celebrates the
end of the H.A.P.P.Y
Program with an Awards
Ceremony at the Miami
Police College
The PAL Participants

Economic Advocacy Trust,
and the South Florida
Youth Foundation. The
purpose of the coalition
was to address the
concerns of youth and
parents regarding violence
and safety with a series of
"Safe Summer" activities.
