Since its inception, Miami PAL has broadened its scope to include education, mentoring, tutoring, arts and crafts, dance, cheerleading, music, drama, summer athletics/academic camp, social services, vocational guidance, entrepreneurship, leadership development, healthy choke initiatives, and field trips. Miami PAL has provided free after - school and summer academic and athletic programs for youth, ages 7 through 17 years of age Miami PAL (JETS) is operating a Youth Tackle Football and Cheerleading Program in the Xteme League Football Program, Which will enhance and continue to fulfill the motto of the MPD-Miami PAL which is to "Fill Playgrounds, not Prisons" Miami PAL celebrates the end of the H.A.P.P.Y Program with an Awards Ceremony at the Miami Police College The PAL Participants completed a Survey of the different workshop Topic Expand and duplicate its programs through hiring of more Youth Counselors, increasing Volunteer opportunities, and establishing new PAL sites (at least 2 sites within each of the Northern, Central, and Southern regions of the city). The coalition consisted of a multi -agency joint venture which included: the City of Miami Police, the District 5 Commissioner's Office, Model City/Little Haiti NET, City of Miami Parks and Recreation, City of Miami Community Relations Board, Miami Dade County Economic Advocacy Trust, and the South Florida Youth Foundation. The purpose of the coalition was to address the concerns of youth and parents regarding violence and safety with a series of "Safe Summer" activities.
