Purpose of Item: Law Department Matter ID No. The nature of this item is to establish a term contract for the Lease/Rental of Philips Automated External Defibrillators for the Department of Fire Rescue, with Philips Healthcare for a period of two (2) years with no options to renew, pursuant to Invitation For Bid (IFB) No. 448313, allocating funds from the various sources of funds of the user department, subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval at the time of need. Background Information: Approval of this contract will enable the Fire Rescue Department to replace its inventory of Physio Control Life Pak 12 Cardiac Monitors which are approaching the end of their lifecycle. The requested Philips MRx Cardiac Monitors Defibrillators offer more features than just an AED. Monitors can shock both conscious and unconscious patients; diagnose active heart attacks, measure blood oxygen levels and much more. There is also a Preventive Maintenance Plan that will keep the monitors properly calibrated during the life of the lease. On May 30, 2014, the Purchasing Department issued Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 448313. As required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued on-line. On June 6, 2014, at the bid opening, Philips Healthcare submitted the sole responsive and responsible bid per bid specifications, and is therefore recommended for the award.
