HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 14-00662 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "E-CITATION PROJECT," AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, CONSISTING OF A GRANT AWARD FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, IN THE AMOUNT OF $72,000.00, TO EQUIP THE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT UNIT WITH MOBILE TICKETING DEVICES, KNOWN AS E-CITATION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF SAID GRANT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") submitted a grant application to the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT"), to purchase twenty (20) mobile ticketing devices with accessories; and WHEREAS, the City received notification that said application was approved for funding in an amount not to exceed $72,000.00; and WHEREAS, these devices will replace the paper -based citation systems that are now being utilized; and WHEREAS, the effective date of the subgrant agreement was October 1, 2013, and will end September 30, 2014; and WHEREAS, per the letter from FDOT, the effective date of the subgrant agreement is June 26, 2014, and only those costs incurred on or after that date and before October 1, 2014, are eligible for reimbursement; and WHEREAS, it would be appropriate for the City Manager to accept said grant and to establish a new Special Revenue Project for the appropriation of said award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are appropriated as described below: FUND TITLE: E-Citation Project RESOURCES: Florida Department of Transportation $72,000.00 City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 14-00662 (Version: 1) Printed On: 7/10/2014 File Number: 14-00662 APPROPRIATIONS: $72, 000.00 Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept said grant award and to execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, in order to implement the acceptance and administration of said grant. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} A PROVED AS TO FORM t ND CORRECTNESS: VICTORIA MENDEZ CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, itshall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
