A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A COMMUNITY LEASE
AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, BETWEEN
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MIAMI, FOR THE OPERATIONS OF THE
MIAMI HOMELESSASSISTANCE PROGRAM ON THE PREMISES LOCATED AT
450 SOUTHWEST 5TH STREET MIAMI, FLORIDA, FORATHREE (3) YEAR
PERIOD IN THE AMOUNT OF $12.00 PER YEAR, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW
FOR FIVE (5) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR TERMS WITH THE SAME TERMS AND
CONDITIONS AS SET FORTH IN SAID LEASE AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, Miami -Dade County ("County") recognizes the importance of providing outreach
services to homeless individuals living on the streets, parks and other places not meant for human
habitation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 753-13, adopted September 17, 2013, the County agreed
to lease its space located at 450 Southwest 5th Street, Miami, Florida, to the Public Housing and
Community Development Department ("Tenant") so that the Tenant can coordinate these homeless
outreach services, including managing the homeless helpline call center, through the co -location of all
its administrative, outreach and homeless helpline call taker staff at one (1) site; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") is desirous to lease said property for the relocation and
operations of the City's Homeless Assistance Program with the stipulations contained in the
agreement scope of services; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Manager to accept the terms and execute the lease
agreement for a three (3) year term, with the option to renew for five (5) additional one (1) year terms,
upon discretion of the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute a Community Lease Agreement, in
substantially the attached form, between the County and the City for the operations of the Miami
Homeless Assistance Program on the premises located at 450 Southwest 5th Street, Miami, Florida,
for a three (3) year period, in the amount of $12.00 per year, with the option to renew for five (5)
additional one (1) year term, with the same terms and conditions as set forth in said Lease Agreement.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2}

{1) The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passedand adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
