Attached, please find the public hearing notice for a waiver of the requirement for competitive
sealed bidding procedures for procurement of maintenance and repair services of Self -Contained
Breathing Apparatus ("SCBA") from Draeger Safety, Inc., the sole source provider of this
service, for the Department of Fire -Rescue. This item is scheduled for the Commission meeting

CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing will be held by the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida on
June 26, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 3500 Pan
American Drive, Miami, Florida, for the purpose of waiving the requirements of obtaining
sealed bids for the procurement of maintenance and repair of Self -Contained Breathing
Apparatus ("SCBA") from Draeger Safety, Inc., a Non -Minority vendor, located 101
Technology Drive, Pittsburgh, PA, 15275-1057, for the City of Miami Fire -Rescue
Department, on a contract basis for a four (4) year term, at a first -year cost not to exceed
$30,000, allocating funds from Account No. 00001.184010.546000.0.0.
Inquiries from other potential sources of such a product who feel that they might be able
to satisfy the City's requirement for this item may contact Tahlia Gray, City of Miami
Department of Purchasing, at (305) 416-1912.
All interested persons are invited to appear and may be heard concerning these items.
Should any person desire to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to
any matter considered at this hearing, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of
the proceedings is made, including all testimony and evidence upon any appeal may be
based (F.S.286.0105).
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, persons needing special
