Law Department Matter ID No. 13-1495 Purpose of Item: A resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachment(s), pursuant to Section 18-72(b)(15) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, authorizing the City Manager to execute a maintenance and support agreement ("agreement") with Motorola Solutions, Inc., for a term of one (1) year with the option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year periods, for the maintenance and support of the Department of Police Computer Aided Dispatch ("CAD") system, composed of the Infotrak, PremierCAD, PremierMDC software and other components, in an amount not to exceed $453,360.00 for the first year, subject to annual increases as specified in Section 5, Exhibit A, of the PSA, allocating funds from the Department of Police Account No. 50001.251000.54600firther authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all other necessary amendments, extensions, and modifications to this agreement, after consultation with the City Attorney. Director City Manager AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM (CONTINUED) Subject: Maintenance and Support Agreement for the Department of Police Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, Proprietary # 13-14-012. Background Information: In 2004, the City of Miami Police Department procured a suite of software applications and hardware from Motorola Solutions as part of a Public Safety Technology Enhancement Program (PSTEP) pursuant to Resolution 04-0491. The purpose of this software was improve the way that the Police Department responds to calls for emergency service, investigates crimes, and interprets calls for service and crime data in order to improve the delivery of public safety services to the residents, businesses, and visitors to the City of Miami. The purpose of this ongoing software and hardware maintenance and professional services agreement is to ensure that the critical applications and hardware continue to operate, function, and comply with any State or Federal Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) requirements or regulations. This maintenance agreement ensures that the Department's Computer Aided Dispatch System (CADS), Law Records Management System (LRMS), Premier Mobile Data Computer System (PMDC), Field Based Reporting System (FBR), and all other support systems continue to be supported as well as receiving timely software updates to enhance functionality, address security concerns, or be in compliance with mandated regulations. These are all mission critical applications that sustain the Department's ability to deliver Public Safety services. Failure to maintain these systems could result in a prolonged system outage resulting in inefficient manual processes or the Department's inability to meet stringent State and Federal guidelines. It would also impact or delay our ability to deliver service and investigate crimes.
