It will institute new and revised definitions in Article 1, add review criteria in Article 4, remove most regulations from Article 6, update regulations for nonconforming signs in Article 7, and create new regulations in Article 10. It will also provide a more user-friendly document with clear regulations for each zoning designation as well as additional signage regulations for various circumstances within the built environment and business demands. Approval. Discussed as a workshop item on December 12, 2012 and January 30, 2013. Continued on February 25, 2013. Approval with modifications to City Commission on April 3, 2013 by a vote of 6-3 as follows: Strike all language referring to Electronic Message Signs and remove the sunset clause for freestanding signs. Continued on May 23, 2013. Indefinitely deferred on June 27, 2013. Continued on December 12, 2013 and January 23, 2014. Deferred on February 27, 2014.Passed on First Reading on March 13, 2014.
