Purpose of Item: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS TO THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1.040 MILLION FOR THE PURCHASE OF FOUR FIRE RESCUE VEHICLES, $500,000 FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLICE PATROL CARS, $500,000 FOR THE PURCHASE OF GENERAL VEHICLES FOR THE GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, $70,000 FOR CONSULTING SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ACQUISITON OF A NEW CITY-WIDE EMERGENCY RADIO SYSTEM, AND $175,000 ASSOCIATED WITH ADDITIONAL ATTORNEY'S FEES AND COSTS FOR REPRESENTATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, IN THE MODIFICATION PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT IN THE CASE OF MICHAEL POTTINGER, ET AL. VS. CITY OF MIAMI. Background Information: At the April 10, 2014 City Commission meeting, the Commission directed the Manager to return with a resolution allocating funding for four fire rescue vehicles. Considering the need for other vehicles throughout City operations and considering two subsequent events, the City administration is recommending the following resolution allocating funding in the amount of $2,285,000.
