Since 1994 the City of Miami ("City") has received HOPWA Program funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (" HUD") and has been responsible for the implementation of programs designed to provide housing and related services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in the City and throughout Miami -Dade County. The AIDS Community has expressed the need to continue to offer the STRMU program due to the current economic conditions resulting in high unemployment in the community. On October 1, 2013 three agencies submitted applications to a Request for Proposal to administer the STRMU program resulting in the selection of Sunshine for All, Inc. The Administration recommends the allocation for Program Year 2014-2015 HOPWA STRMU assistance funds, in the amount of $560,000 as specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, to provide Short Term Rental, Mortgage and Utility assistance to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
