Positioned north of Biscayne Island in Biscayne Bay and just offshore from Miami's Edgewater and Upper Eastside districts, this island is a popular destination for boaters. Adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterways, Pace Island offers recreational boaters and visitors access to Biscayne Bay and Miami's waterways. Project Description: This project focuses on the debris removal and maintenance of Pace Picnic Island. To combat these environmental threats, the City of Miami is implementing this project to prevent visitor -induced contamination. Partnering with the Aquatic Control Group, the initiative will involve bi-weekly cleanings and additional services during peak boating season, costing $750 per week. In recognition of the importance of preserving the natural beauty and environmental integrity of our waterfront parks and islands, the City of Miami Commission unanimously passed a resolution approving the Leave No Trace policy at the March 14, 2024, commission meeting.
