Subject: Resolution Authorizing new Agreement with Amigos Together For Kids, Inc for After School
instruction and program management Services for 2014-2017 at Jose Marti Park.
Purpose of Item:
Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to execute a Park Programming Agreement with Amigos
Together For Kids, Inc. (AMIGOS), with an option to renew for up to two (2) consecutive three year
periods under the same terms and conditions, to continue to provide After School instruction and
program management, family events, cultural, and recreational activities for youth at Jose Marti Park
for the 2014-2017 contract period beginning May 1, 2014.
Background Information:
The Department of Parks and Recreation recommends that the City of Miami executes an agreement
with Amigos Together For Kids, Inc. (AMIGOS), to continue providing the after school instruction
and program management, family events, cultural and recreational activities for youth at Jose Marti
Park. AMIGOS has operated this program at Jose Marti Park for the last nine years. The period of
this agreement is from May 12, 2014 to May 11, 2017.
